All our training is face-to-face. We don’t offer virtual training opportunities.

We offer two types of training:

1. We offer a quarterly training programme to book please email info@volunteeringbradford.org.

Dates for September-December 2022 are:

Involving Young Volunteers – 15th September 10-1pm

This is a practical training workshop for groups that want to work with young volunteers (under 18), or for groups that already involve young volunteers.

It covers good practice on engaging young volunteers;

designing rewarding roles;

recruiting and retaining young volunteers.

DBS checks – myth busting & guidance – 12th October 10-1pm

This session is designed to ensure that you are using the DBS process correctly; are clear about which roles require checks / and which don’t!? And practice safer recruitment regardless of the use of DBS checks

Involving Asylum Seekers as volunteers – 1st November 10-1pm

This is a practical session giving you the tools to involve asylum seeker volunteers successfully and addressing some of the barriers that you may feel when trying to involve asylum seekers as volunteers.

Mental Health Awareness – 5th December 10-1pm

1 in 4 of the adult population suffer from poor mental health at some point in their lives. Volunteering can be a fantastic tool to support recovery. This session will give you a greater understanding of mental health problems and how to support someone in recovery.

This half-day introductory course is accredited by Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) and aims to help to remove the stigma surrounding mental health and promote an open and supportive environment for the workforce.

‘Basic Awareness – Safeguarding Adults’

This is a 3 hour course for anyone who works or volunteers with a service that supports ‘adults at risk’. This training can be delivered at evenings/weekends or during the working week at a venue convenient to you.
